Anime this season
I just added Gift ~ Eternal Rainbow to my watching list for this season. I remember somebody saying that I would like it and well, like would be quite the understatement. Gift is definitely one of my top favourites this season!
With that my list has now become:
- Asatte no Houkou (Good premise and realistic reactions)
- Black Blood Brothers (Vampire action!)
- Busou Renkin (I’m hooked on the Valkyrie Skirt)
- Code Geass (CLAMP + Sunrise FTW!)
- D.Gray-man (Humour and good action)
- Death Note (Uber plot)
- Galaxy Angel Rune (Just for Apricot)
- Ghost Hunt (Only 1 episode out but seems promising)
- Gift ~Eternal Rainbow~ (Yuki clone, Mikuru clone, MOE!!!)
- Happiness (Mahou Shoujo = win)
- Hataraki Man (Interesting style)
- Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori (I just like Noto Mamiko voicing Enma Ai)
- Kanon 2006 (Uguu, Auu etc)
- Kikoushi Enma (I’m just curious about this whole demon hunting demons thing)
- Kujibiki Unbalance (Actually I haven’t started on it but soon)
- La Corda D’Oro - Primo Passo (Like I said, classical music + anime = winning combination)
- Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo! (She seems interesting, with such great physical ability yet so shy with her love for that shota)
- Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru (There is NO way Mizuho can be a male! ABSOLUTELY NOT!)
- Pumpkin Scissors (Gonzo. Blue Lantern. Cool LTA.)
- Red Garden (Different style of art than the usual. Curious about the background too)
- Shounen Onmyouji (I’m reminded of those old Channel 8 period martial art serials)
- Souko no Strain (Interesting idea and good looking girl makes up for this being a mecha anime)
- Sumomomo Momomo (Comedy galore!)
- Super Robot Wars Original Generation - Divine Wars (Just to see if there are any mecha pilots here that shout the names of their attacks before using them)
- Tenpou Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi (Youi. Miko-in-disguise. Cross-dressing Miko)
- Tokimeki Memorial - Only Love (Neko Mimi!)
- Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (Another comedy with Sunako being able to give Enma Ai a run for her money at times)
- Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na - Crescent Love (FEENA-SAMA!)
Luckily subbing for many are slow so there is time to clear them.
I just had a sudden GUNGHO 4 ANIME MUSIC feeling so I wrote this post on the recently released OPs.
So far I’ve put the following songs on my playlist:
Ashita no Kioku (Takahashi Naozumi) - Black Blood Brothers OP: I like how the song starts out but most of it becomes rather standard.
the WORLD (Nightmare) - Death Note OP: Just like Ashita no Kioku, there is just one phrase I like and a lot that are simply so-so.
Uchuu de Koi wa Rurun Ruuuun (Inamura Yuna & Hanamura Satomi & Hirano Aya & Akesaka Satomi & Nakayama Erina) - Galaxy Angel Rune OP: I confess! I watched the first episode! Which, by the way, is quite entertaining though it doesn’t have the same effect as the original Angel-tai. The song is cute and lively and advertises for the anime extensively.
Ai (Atsumi Saori) - Kujibiki Unbalance OP: Yes I haven’t watched Genshiken but this song is GOOD! The rhythm is just SUPERB! Probably second most liked of these songs.
MA MO RU! (Tomita Maho) - Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo! OP: Average. Really nothing to say about this.
Love Power (Aice5) - Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru OP: Somewhat of a dreamy feel to it which fits the anime. But nothing spectacular.
Aoki Flamme (Takahashi Youko) - Pumpkin Scissors OP: Note the artist; she sang Yoake Umarekuru Shoujo for Shakugan no Shana. This is the best of the new songs so far! The way it starts with the sound of a shell being loaded and the quick tempo with the monotonous chant leading to the rise at “Gespanst Jager” brings to mind the OP sequence with numerous 901-ATT soldiers advancing like zombies. You can really feel the emotion in the song, especially at the points with multiple lines starting with “No!”. At one point this portion was sung clearly; a marked difference from the usual where the voice sounds strained or run through a filter. The latter does give a rather cold feeling to those phrases, a fitting effect for the cold steel tanks and the cold soldiers of 901-ATT trained to kill them in slow, ponderous and rather suicidal advances.
Saikyou OX Keikaku (MOSAIC.WAV) - Sumomomo Momomo OP: EXCEPTIONALLY cute! Very catchy. My feel-good song to brighten up the day. The extreme machine-gun-like tempo serves as a rather accurate acoustic picture of the anime. I especially like the end with the “Sumomomo Momomo *OSU!*”.
Are you an Otaku?
I came across this site when somebody on the WannabeFansubs Forums linked it. It does seem a bit dated but it has interesting results.
