B-B-Bungfu?

So like, in all my recent posts I’ve been raving on about capoeira yeah? Well, time to drop the big one.

This 14th(Sunday) @2pm-ish(EDIT:I got the time wrong, its 10am onwards), Istana Park, I’ll be participating in my capoeira school’s 2nd Batizado (”baptisms” into the art of capoeira, welcome “game” for all new capoeristas) & Troca de Corda (change of belts), the latter in which I’ll be judged.

If anyone is free/interested/just happen to pass by I invite you to come take a look, its open for all to see & will last a few hours~ My ass is probably gonna be kissing the ground 1/2 the time and I might not get my next belt but hell, its all fun anyway.

Punch, Kick, its all in the mind!

Just throwing this out there ’cause… this is one of the places I haven’t thrown it out to yet.

I’ve been busy, yeah? But is not so much of Work, Final Fantasy Online or *gasp!* Anime related… no, its the other 2 things occupying my life right now which are:

1)My night course in Digital Media (almost everything, from 2D & 3D animation to web design & Flash but, meh…)

2)Capoeira, the Brazilian Martial Art (No, its not breakdancing though the moves are similar and no I’m not going to argue which came first as I believe that both were born from the need to move)

What I want to ask here is “Hey, anyone interested in joining me?” (I’m lookin’ at you Shane, lol)

I’ve been in it for over a year now, got dragged into my first class the day after I ORD’d, and its a fun, community oriented(?), not so strict sorta thing. Well, it doesn’t seem so stiff as other martial arts, this is just my assumption of course as I have no prior experience in ANY martial arts (unless you want to count in BCCT & ICCT)

No idea what capoeira looks like? Just look it up on youtube or just watch us “play” every sat, 3:30pm outside of Borders and we’re usually there for a good 1 1/2 hrs. Don’t be turned away by what you see on youtube and actually watch us on sat where you can checkout the level we are at… not all of us are able to pull off all those “flying” stunts that are on those videos.

If you can and/or are interested (esp. after seeing us on the weekends, its a good way to gauge) come join me. You can check out class fees and other details at the school’s blog @ Bantus Capoeira Singapore

lol, blatent advertising for my school, but heck, the more friends in class the better.

Play!

27 Jan: Pre-Butler Night’s Gaming Session

Specifically, Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram (VOOT) . So like, I’m calling out to those of you who had an interest in VOOT to come down and join me for a few rounds of the game before we head down to Cosafe.

The (possibly ONLY one left in SG with WORKING sticks) game is located in Paradiz centre B1 Funland Arcade. You guys should know the place… its right across the road from Sunshine Plaza.

Anyway, I don’t have a timing yet. I’ve got something on in the afternoon and that event requires me to be in a suit so I’m all set for Butler Night. After that, depending on the time, I’ll head straight down to VO and like… reserve the machine (not like its gonna be crowded but yeah…) … in my SUIT.

When we’ve all had enough rounds and we’re hungry, I suppose that’ll be our que to head down to Cosafe?
