Post-Gathering thoughts

First of all, a huge thank-you to kwok who immediately suggested his place as an alternative when my place became unavailable at the last moment.

Secondly, a big thank-you to Robin who contributed quite a bit to the food supply with that many otahs. Paiseh, you still had to pay for the dinner.

Thirdly, a big thank-you too to the person(s) who bought the drinks.

Lastly, a big thank-you to all who set aside time to be there at this event.

I’ve always complained about the difficulties of arranging the logistics for the event, but I guess the satisfaction of organizing such a gathering successfully is a form of reward for that difficulty. This time was particularly delicate though, especially with the zi char dabao thing and the last minute venue change.

Speaking of zichar dabao, I guess it won’t be repeated again. Seems that potluck/going out to eat is still the best option, payment and food quantity-wise. I ‘lost’ money, to be honest, and I can’t pinpoint the loss. Still, given that there was about $8 in 1Obn coffers, I’ll take it as using the battalion coffers.

Given the growing size of our battalion, I think it’ll be prudent to switch future events to that of a chalet. Seems that holding such events at someone’s house is quite a disturbance to the family members. I think for events next year, (in June or July), we should hold it at a chalet instead. More space, more scope for activities, more fun.

Next up would be Chinese New Year. Not sure when it’ll be, or if it clashes with mid-terms, but hopefully we can have some sort of gathering. If I don’t get a chance to talk to you again, here’s wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Chalet is expensive. And since when did we grow in size? Unless you mean we became fatter. If not, I don’t see any increase in number.

    Yes.

We now have Windbell and Tsubaki, who weren’t there before CNY this year.
