I just finally completed the organising of an outing event for my VJC class together with a fellow course mate and computing class buddy. It was a horrifying experience to say the least. The person who initiated the event constantly gave rhetoric suggestions and comments which were hard to manage, not to mention that a couple of other people continuously gave restrictions and demands to further entrench the stagnant discussion. When organising an event, the last thing you ever want to hear is the voice of dissent WITH nonconstructive suggestions. If you’re opposed to an idea, you retort and give a better suggestion that is totally feasible and I will gladly accept it to save the trouble and appease you. But comments “Eh, but I dun lyk that place lehz…” are just pissing me off. It’s finally settled through a non-democratic ultimatum and I must really thank this organising buddy of mine which ISN’T the person who initiated the event.
From this experience, I thought back to 1OBn and realise that organising events for this bunch of close friends had always been so much easier. We readily give in to the minor demands of others, we reason and give suggestions which are quickly agreed upon by others. We don’t kick up a fuss over whose place to meet at and we readily supply venues for gathering, food and entertainment for the benefit of everyone in the group. This thought really made me cherish this mini-organisation even more. Sure, we each have our iconic quirks and idiosyncrasies but we can easily accept each other and make it seem fun. I don’t know how long this 1OBn thing will last but for now, thanks to all of you guys who helped maintain this group and were always there to turn up for events and gatherings no matter what it takes. You have my heartfelt thanks.
We’re in the second year of this group now, and let’s hope it carries on for a long time to come.

Lame. It is because a JC group is bound by administrative structure, ie a class, while this group is bound by hobbies, which means we are far more likely to like the same things.
I also dislike going for JC outing because the girls are not chio.
