NUS is always filled with small money-making programmes. Fill out a survey? $20 for you. Help stone overnight? $80 kthxbye.
Now here’s another one that’s apparently open to all:
“Dear students,
We are recruiting volunteers to participate in a scientific research project concerning allergies .
Volunteers are required to give 100 ml (about 6-7 tablespoons) of blood for the project.
Blood will be drawn from the arm by a trained phlebotomist using disposable sterile syringes.
Each volunteer will be paid $10 in appreciation of their participation.
The whole procedure will take about 10-15 min, and light refreshments will be served thereafter.
Timings are flexible, you can choose the available days and time slots (usually morning).
As the project will be ongoing till next year, your participation is greatly appreciated. You can bring your friends along too, if they’re also interested to volunteer.
Eligibility of volunteers:
- 21 years old and above
- Not on long-term medication (panadol ok)
Venue (map attached):
Centre for Life Sciences (CELS) (behind LT30, Faculty of Science; also opposite King Edward VII Hall), #03-02, Immunology Programme.
How to get there:
1) Take the staircase next to LT30 (Faculty of Science) and you will reach the basement carpark of the CELS building. There’s a staircase on the left hand side of the carpark which will lead you to the main lobby of the building. Take a lift to the 3rd storey from there.
2) Alternatively, if you are coming from PGP, KE VII hall or CRISP statellite carpark area, you can go behind KE VII hall, cross the road and go down a flight of sheltered stairway which will lead you straight to the main lobby of CELS.
To join, please send an email to linalab.blood with your name, mobile number, and medical condition (if any). For any enquiries, feel free to email too. We will contact you shortly to assess your availability. It is on a first-come, first serve basis.”
I want to gain $10 by losing 0.1 litres of blood. Interested parties can just mail the PIC yourself I think.
