EOY event confirmation.

That’s it guys, I’ve decided.
Taking into consideration that the 29 Dec 06 peeps should be having dinner on 29 Dec 06 itself (shane I need you to confirm this for me ASAP), I’m scheduling the dinner on 30 Dec 06. Dinner should be steamboat buffet at Marina Bay, unless anyone has a better suggestion for dinner, or a better place to suggest for the steamboat. This should be followed by overnight LAN, most probably at Peninsula/Paradiz. As for 31 Dec 06 itself, well, if we are still high on adrenaline, we might want to go play sports, say badminton or swimming?
I’d like to apologise for not being able to get a chalet for this EOY event, even though I was really quite enthu about it, because well… I think all of 1Obn should be able to attend this. In any case, if there’s no dinner on 29 Dec 06, we’ll shift our even forward to 29 Dec 06 instead. Gives us the weekend to manouevre activities too. Therefore, Shane, it’s imperative that we confirm the ORD dinner ASAP. Thanks.
I need confirmation of attendance ASAP, so people, please, please, please do reply to this post immediately. Those not replying by the end of this week, i.e. 9/10 Dec 06, will be assumed to be busy. Oh yah, if you’re unable to make it, please suggest alternative dates to work on.

Of course, seeing as how I have class on Saturday afternoon I’d rather we stick to saturday evening, but whatever….
I’m fine with dinner on 30th.
Classes on saturday for yl, jonnz and me in the afternoon so overnight lan on friday (29 Dec) is a no-go, in case the opportunity for moving the date forward arises.
another good date, imho, would be in the middle of the week after x’mas. Wed 27 Dec. Play tennis instead. Lol.

No racket, and I don’t like badminton. Not ever since I saw a baby boom equivalent of Susilo-wannabes in my neighbourhood when Susilo was in his prime and almost made it to the semifinals or (was it) finals of some tournament quite a long time ago.
Then the craze died, or maybe it’s because a large group of people started playing soccer at the same place regularly. Nowadays I only see this auntie and her kids play badminton on a regular basis, in fact almost everyday if it’s not raining. Actually, they’ve been playing even before the whole Susilo-craze started and died. Hmm, respect.
oh and just reaffirmed my suspicions of my cousin’s wedding being on the 30th Dec. So I will join u guys late for lan, I hope. Not having dinner too. Thankfully the mad arrangement of so many cousins’ weddings ends with this one. I don’t have anymore good shirts to wear, all worn to previous ones already. wtf.

I also can’t see how the Ronald Susilo inspired crowd caused you to hate badminton, but nvm.
And maybe we could postpone it to 31 Dec 06 instead. Alot of people haven’t replied, say halcyon, jiahan etc.. Kwok included.

Still don’t get you? As in you don’t like the sport because it used to be “popular” in a blind way? So weird, I was thinking whether one likes a sport is dependent on the style/skill needed, and not…. erm because it was popular in a dumb way.
In any case, I also don’t see why people have to be emo because no course of action is taken. Alot of discussions/thinking is not posted here, and just because there are no official updates means nothing is happening.
In addition, rather than being emo about the lack of updates/decisive action (which does not HELP AT ALL in this case), why not take proactive action and try to help in the organising?
It’s all Singaporean, complain emo complain, but never wanting to take initative and proactive action.
Btw, if you still have not realised, I have 1 more week of work to go, and in the period I still have my under’s work and loads of arrows to clear, even though i may be playing my under’s PSP most of the time. So don’t blindly assume that I’m so free that I have LOADS of time to constantly chase people for updates on their attendance, and fixing the various details. You want updates? Decisive action? Then help me.

Talk about being late for proactive action. Lateness is not a reason not to be proactive. Its very easy, just ask the core members and it’ll naturally reach the rest.
Simple as that. And I wasn’t just referring to this post alone, and your comment. I was referring to the attitude all through.
